Finding the Perfect Winter Boots

I’ve always been a California boy. Born and raised. It’s a wonderful place to live, but it isn’t necessarily known for its seasons. We often go from warm to less warm, with a splash of rain… sometimes (when we aren’t in a drought). I love the sunshine, but we will often miss out on the beauty of the leaves changing and the fresh powder from the first snowfall. At least where I have lived.
This holiday season that is all changing. I am heading out to Vermont to spend time with Harper and his family for the holidays. I’ve been warned that it is verrrrrry cold. I’m honestly not sure how I’m going to handle it. I love to visit snow, but I definitely don’t enjoy being in it for very long. Harper has also pointed out that I do not own any proper winter clothes.
Not to worry though. I do love an excuse to get new clothes!
First things first, I realized most importantly I needed to get a proper pair of boots. I had a hard time choosing, but I eventually landed on The Cold Day Duck Boots from Sperry. I thought they were the perfect combo of a preppy yet rugged style. Perfect for heading to New England.
I LOVE the way they look. Stylish, but still functional and durable. No need to worry about wet feet over here.
We never have any snow in San Francisco, but I wanted to break them in on one of our local park trails. Here are some of my favorites shots of the boots in action!
Here’s what I loved about them:
Super comfy
Didn’t have to worry about them getting dirty
Classic style
Rugged but still preppy
Great traction
Water resistant
I can’t wait to wear them when we head to Vermont! They really are the perfect all around boot.
Not feeling them? Here are some other styles from Sperry that I really loved and almost chose!
What is your favorite go to boot for winter? Any advice I need to know before I brave a real winter?
Thanks so much for reading! Can’t wait to hear your thoughts :)
