Weekend in Vermont
September has been so fun and full of travel! Earlier this month we went to Vermont to visit some of Harper's family and go to a friends wedding. I've been to Vermont a few times now, and each time I fall more and more in love. So green and lush! This trip I got to explore the beautiful cities of Montpelier and Burlington. Both are worth a visit!
Montpelier
We stopped in Montpelier out of our desperate need for some coffee on our way to Burlington. So glad we did! It was the cutest little town. We explored around the State Capital and wandered down its one main street. We grabbed some iced coffees from a little cafe and popped our heads into a couple old shops. It was the perfect pit stop.
Look at these beautiful flowers!!

We found this fun old fire station. So many of the buildings were made out of beautiful old bricks. We don't see a lot of bricks out west, with our earthquakes and all.
We were only in Montpelier for a hot minute, but I definitely want to go back for some more exploring.
Burlington
Our next stop was Burlington, which was where we spent the rest of our weekend. Burlington is located on Lake Champlain and is Vermont's largest city. The lake is full of sailboats and has a view of the beautiful Adirondack Mountains in the distance. It is very blue and seems to constantly sparkle from the sun. After getting settled, we headed downtown to explore. Burlington's downtown area has a real quirky college feel, with lots of colorful large homes and fun cafes. Our first night we explored Church Street, a pedestrian only area full of restaurants, shops and bars. We walked around and eventually decided on getting some ice cream cones. We then walked to an overlook to where we could stare off at the lake for a bit.
Look at this lake!! Stunning.
Did I mention the homes were adorable?? Definitely front yard goals.
We got Chocolate ice cream from Lake Champlain Chocolates, and YES, it was the right choice! Ice cream always makes me happy.
The next day we attended the wedding at Shelburne Farms, just a few miles down the road. It ended up raining the whole time, but luckily they provided everyone with cute white umbrellas. Such a fun touch!
Just two goobers with matching umbrellas. Also, check out all that green!! It just goes on and on.
I also happened to find some wallpaper that perfectly matched my tie!
All in all we all had a blast at the wedding. A little rain couldn't stop us from having a great time.
And then the next day we had to head back to the airport and fly home. It was such a great trip though! Already looking forward to the next time I get to visit the Green Mountain State. Hopefully next time we will have more time to explore and do some hikes.
