Stepping Up That Work Look

Stepping Up That Work Look

It's true, it's true, I have a real job. Don't let the curated insta feed fool you. I actually work a pretty standard 8-5 Monday through Friday.  I know that finding that right work look can be tough, so I thought I would share some of my favorite tips and products that have recently helped me step up my work look.

Tip 1: Keeping your hair styled, trimmed and looking fresh

A frequent question I get is "How do you cut and style your hair?"

I like to keep it short on the sides, usually a 1 and then fade it up to a hard part. I then have them only do a short trim on the top, since I like the swoopy wavy thing it does when I comb it to the side. I've had this haircut for awhile, but I feel it is a timeless mad men-esque look, which works perfect for both casual and professional environments.  I'm always trying new hair product, but lately I've been using Martial Vivot hair styling paste. They reached out to me earlier this month and sent me some product and an awesome comb (which I now keep in my backpack every day). Their product is very lightweight and natural looking, yet still has a nice hold that lasts throughout the day. I'm a fan.

Tip 2: Invest in a Nice Belt

My work look is pretty simple, mostly consisting of classic Oxford shirts tucked into chinos.  I think it's important to pull it all together with a nice leather belt though. It makes a difference. The belt pictured above is from Remo Tulliani, and I literally wear it every day. Important Pro tip: Always match the color of your shoes with your belt.

Tip 3:  Stylish Leather Shoes

Speaking of matching your belt with shoes, look at these beauties. I recently did a collaboration with Pikolino's Leather Boots, and I quickly fell in love with their look. So comfy and classy. These shoes are their casual ankle boots, and they are now my go to's for around the office.

Welp, those were some of my current favorite things that help pull together my work attire. What are some of your favorite tips for stepping up your work look?
