Highland Park Coffee

Highland Park Coffee

With all this extra time on my hands, I decided to get out of my apt and explore some new coffee shops. Civil Coffee has been a place that has been popping up on my instagram feed for awhile now. I decided to take the trip out to Highland Park to finally check it out. I have never really been down to Highland Park prior. It is kind of nestled in the hills between Downtown LA and Pasadena. Civil Coffee is located on what looks to be an old main street in the city. The coffee shop was very charming, with beautifully laid tiled floors and a mirrored base bar. The midcentury chairs and the marble top tables were also a nice touch. The coffee was all around great. I was hoping to check some emails, but sadly the shop did not offer any wifi. I totally get that trend on a logistical side for the shops, but it is still a little disappointing when you want to get some work done. Luckily I brought a book, which kept my mind plenty occupied while I sipped my cortado.

As I was leaving Civil Coffee, I decided to walk down the main street to see what other shops were in the neighborhood. I stumbled upon an adorable little coffee shop called Kindness and Mischief. I loved the name, and their logo was a cute little fox with a bandit mask. I walked in and talked to the friendly owners at the bar. They explained to me that they had just recently opened a couple months ago. I decided to get another drink because they were so welcoming.  I highly recommend checking out both of these places :)
