2021 Goals, We’ve Got Em!
This blog post is sponsored by OLLY. All opinions are my own.
I always try and start my year off with some good ol’ goal setting, while also reflecting on my previous years goal. I had some pretty ambitious wellness goals last year (Check them out HERE), and while I feel like I made some progress, I thought it could be fun to give them a 1-5 score in review (1 being meh and 5 being AWESOME). Here’s a quick 2020 goal rundown:
2020 Goal Review
Eating Healthier- 4/5. Harper has been a saint this year, and has been primarily keeping me fed and healthy through this pandemic. He has honestly probably made 95% of our dinners (maybe more), and we truly did try and add some healthier meal options to the mix…Less pasta and more veggies and lean meat. Although we still had a few mac & cheese and take out nights ;) It’s still important to #treatyourself
Sleeping Better- 3.5/5 I feel like I slept pretty well in 2020, but I definitely didn’t get a full 8 hrs every night. If anything, I think I’ve been gradually staying up later and later :/…still, I feel like the sleep I did receive was mostly deep and restorative each night.
Exercise more- 5/5 The pandemic made working out really tough, but I’m actually super happy with how I’ve pushed through and figured out how to rethink my exercise routine. A lot of this push came from my good friend and trainer Joseph, who helped me with personal zoom training and equipment. While I still don’t love working out at the foot of my bed each week, it’s really helped me work through the stress of this past year. Honestly, I feel like I’m in the best shape I’ve been in for a while, and I’m ready to continue strong into 2021 :)
Get more vitamins and nutrients- 5/5 Like I mentioned, eating well was a pretty big focus for me last year, but I also wanted to make sure I was supplementing what I ate with any other much needed vitamins and nutrients to round me out ☺ In 2020 I had an great year-long partnership w/ OLLY Nutrition, and I can honestly say I love their gummies (and other products) even more after using them for the past year (Check out some of my favorite OLLY posts HERE, HERE, HERE). OLLY is a win-win, because they taste amazing while also helping your body get the vitamins and nutrients it needs.
So all in all, not too shabby with my last year’s health goals! Now on to 2021!
2021 Goal Setting
This year I want to continue strong, building on last year’s goals, while also adding more onto them. I’m very excited to announce that OLLY will be back with me for another year, helping me along the way towards achieving them :) Their hashtag #happyinsideout couldn’t describe my 2021 lifestyle goals any better!
Gangs all here! I picked out some of my favorites from last year; like the Active Immunity, Men’s Multi, Sleep and Goodbye Stress!
Without further ado, my 2021 goals:
Drink more water- I’m truly awful at drinking water. I’m constantly dehydrated, and it’s probably because I only drink coffee all day. Harper continually points this out, and yet I’ve ignored it for years. My goal is to have at least one glass of water between each cup of coffee I have each day (which is a lot), and then have a couple tall glasses of water/seltzer when I’m relaxing at home in the evenings. So far so good these first few weeks. Biggest change is that I now have to use the restroom non-stop.
Stress Less- Don’t sweat the small things, they say, well that isn’t always that easy. My goal is to leave my work woes back at the office, and truly try and not think about the stress when I’m back at home. I’ve been listening to audio books on my drive home to escape, and I’m also going to try and share more with Harper when I’m at home, instead of keeping it all bottled up inside. This will be a challenge for me, but OLLY Goodbye Stess gummies will come to the rescue on those extra trying days. These gummies give a nice boost to beat out the negative thoughts and bad vibes. Full of GABA, L-Theanine and Lemon Balm, which work together to support a more calm mind.
Dry January & Then Less Alcohol- I’m over halfway through Dry Jan, and it’s really been a fun challenge. My first time doing it! I’ve switched the evening cocktails for a seltzer mock-tail, and it’s honestly been a lot easier than I thought. I’d like to continue the challenge and just drink on the weekends once Dry January is over.
Exercise 4-5x/week- Gyms are still closed, but I’m going to keep going strong with these darn home workouts. I’ve been mixing up my routine to keep it interesting, and I’ve been seeing a big difference. Here’s what it looks like currently: 2 nights of strength/cross training (using at home weights/bodyweight), 1-2 nights of HIIT workouts and jump roping outside (I found a great workout spot outside at a nearby park), and 1-2 days of running (usually on the weekends).
Sleep More- Lastly, I want to focus again on trying to get those coveted 8hrs of sleep each night. I usually don’t have too much trouble falling asleep once I get into bed… but getting into bed is half the battle. It’s just too easy to stay up doom scrolling Twitter, or seeing what my YouTube algorithm wants to send my way. To help, I love taking two OLLY Sleep gummies at night to help calm me down and mellow me out before its time to sleep. These gummies have a blend of melatonin, L-Theanine and botanicals that will help rock you right to sleep :)
And those are my 2021 goals! What do you think?
Hopefully you’re all staying happy and healthy as we begin 2021. What are your goals? Tell me a few in the comments below!
