Malibu Day Hiking

It was a beautiful Sunday this past weekend, so I decided to take a day trip out to Malibu to explore some hiking trails. As all of LA knows, the Runyon Trails have been closed this season, which has left many people trying to find new hikes around the LA area. I decided to try out the Corral Canyon trails for the first time. But first, I needed to stop and get coffee of course!

I stopped by the Alfred's in Brentwood on my way. I've only been to this Alfred's a couple of times, but i absolutely love its eclectic patterns on patterns look. The cafe is full of stripes, floral wallpaper, turquoise subway tile, and lots of exposed brick in the seating area outside. I sat outside for awhile, enjoying my cortado, and reading a chapter in my book. Conan O'Brien gave me a satisfying nod as he walked down the street and realized I realized who he was.

Once the caffeine kicked in, I hit the road down the Pacific Coast Highway to Malibu. It was a beautiful thirty minute drive along the coast. I rolled the windows down and pretended I had a convertible. The trailhead overall was fairly easy to find. The hike was a 2.5 mile loop through the stunning Corral Canyon. The views of the Pacific Ocean were absolutely incredible. Highly recommend this hike!

After i finished the hike I was starving. Luckily for me, there happened to be an adorable seafood shack right by the trailhead. The line was fairly long, but I took it as a sign  the food was going to be delicious. And it was! The fish and chips were everything. This little day trip completely renewed my strength. I got the idea from a website my friend created called www.campfireadventureco.com . It is an easy way to find hiking ideas around LA. Check it out!
