Snowy Getaway in Tahoe

Last weekend we hit the road and met up with my family in beautiful Lake Tahoe. Tahoe has always been one of my favorite places to visit. I grew up only about an hour and a half away, and so it has always been a beautiful getaway. One of the best parts of moving back to Northern California has been living closer to my family. I'm only about a fifteen minute walk from my sister and a little over an hour away from my parents. We all met up in South Lake Tahoe and explored Emerald Bay, Zephyr Cove and the Heavenly Village. We even ventured into the mountains and did a little snow hike. I quickly realized I desperately needed a proper set of snow boots. I was sliding everywhere. We spent the evening watching the sunset from Harrah's rooftop bar, sipping on some cocktails and enjoying the view over the lake. We're not high rollers, so instead of spending time in the casinos we wandered around the village and sat by the fire in a hotel lobby. We eventually met back up with my sister and my parents and went back to the hotel to play board games and drink some boxed wine. The next morning we ended our weekend with a champagne all-you-can-eat brunch at one of the casinos. The perfect end to a great weekend!

So big, so blue!

A cool Topographic map of the lake I found in one of the shops in the village

Found a sandy little beach.

The sunset from the top of the casino. Simply amazing.
